Welcome to Col EATS!!
I can't even begin to tell you how glad I am that you stopped by.
I'm no chef; I'm a cook, and I quite simply love to eat.
I'm not a nutritionist so I'm not going to tell you how you should and shouldn't enjoy your food, and I'm certainly no "food guru". I'm just an old fashioned, self taught (ish) home cook with a passion for the delicious and a flare for flavour.

It occurred to me recently that my mind is constantly occupied by food - ideas for new recipes, planning what to make for dinner, pre-planning what to do with the leftovers, daydreaming about the sweet morsels I have stashed in my lunchbox... My day has revolved around food for as long as I can remember, and my friends and colleagues are always fascinated to hear about what I've been cooking and eating. That's why I've decided to start this blog, so that you can share too! I hope to inspire people to be more open about the real food that they eat, and there'll be no calorie counting or fad diets allowed. Food is to be enjoyed and celebrated for providing us with the essential life-giving goodness that we need to be us. The fact that's it's delicious, and scrumptious, and taste-bud tantalising is just a fabulous bonus!
My husband and I both suffer from a severe intolerance to cow's milk, so pretty much all of the food I'm likely to feature here will be cow's milk free, if not completely dairy free. My poor, poor husband also happens to suffer from a disastrous gastronomic illness that is sometimes quite difficult to manage. This is why we're quite particular about what we eat, tending to make all of our meals from scratch using fresh and healthy ingredients. We definitely love a treat though so I'll make sure to feature them too!
Whenever possible I will provide recipes, many many photos and a joyous tale of how the delicious food you see ended up on my plate, because this is the food I actually eat.
I hope you enjoy and return, please feel free to leave your comments below!
